Situated along the Potomac River banks across Washington, DC, Arlington, Virginia, it is an urban county comprising just 26 square miles. In 2000, the community was ranked the 13th most densely populated jurisdiction in the country and, as of January 1, 2013, had a population of 212,900. The county is host to a diversity of quaint residential neighborhoods and even business centers composed of towering skyscrapers.

Beyond the automobile, Arlingtonians have many options for traversing the metro area and beyond. And one of the county's great environmentally friendly initiatives is for Arlingtonians to go car-free. The County is home to eleven Metrorail stations and offers Metrobus. Plus, Arlington County boasts 100 miles of multi-use trails and on-street bike lanes, and designated bike routes.
